A supposedly high-end festival organized by Ja Rule and featuring tons of the world's top models has been postponed indefinitely after it turned out to be a total disaster for its high-paying ticket purchasers.

The luxury event promoted by Bella Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, Alessandra Ambrosio and more, turned out to be anything but as the accommodations were not exactly what those paying up to $250,000 were expecting.

Yahoo Celebrity noted that the Fyre Festival, which was scheduled to begin tonight and to be held on a private island in the Bahamas, is now being postponed because it was not as advertised. And the models who participated in promoting it are getting dragged on social media.

Blink 182 was set to perform at the event but pulled out just 24 hours before because even they were not sure about the accommodations.

The accommodations for the well-to-do who made trip turned out to be what many say was a total scam. For starters, the "private island" they were staying at was actually adjacent to a Sandals resort, the lodging was to be in half-built tents and the "gourmet" food they thought would be prepared by chefs was just bread and cheese sandwiches.

A statement released on the Festival's website admitted that the event was not up to par and said that planes were being chartered to get everyone off Great Exuma and back to the states quickly.

"Due to circumstances out of our control, the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests. At this time, we are working tirelessly to get flights scheduled and get everyone off of Great Exuma and home safely as quickly as we can," the statement read. "We ask that guests currently on-island do not make their own arrangements to get to the airport as we are coordinating those plans. We are working to place everyone on complimentary charters back to Miami today; this process has commenced and the safety and comfort of our guests is our top priority. The festival is being postponed until we can further assess if and when we are able to create the high- quality experience we envisioned."

But the wrath of social media was not kind to the celebs whose names were attached to the event.

In an effort to try and calm some of the backlash Ja Rule released his own statement regarding the matter.
