Ryan Murphy, the executive producer of hit shows including American Horror Story, is dishing on the upcoming second season of his new show Feud. The season will revolve around the late Diana, Princess of Wales and her ex-husband, Prince Charles.
As we reported earlier, the new FX series Feud was renewed for a second season before its first (which revolved around Bette Davis and Joan Crawford) had aired. The second season of Feud will begin as Diana's divorce from Charles is being finalized, Elle reported.

"It's about that pain of the dissolving of a fairytale, particularly for Diana. It starts with the filing of divorce papers and takes you up until her death," Murphy said.
According to Elle, Murphy dished on both the current and future seasons of the new series at an event for FX. Murphy also shared how the 2016 election factored into the first season of the series, which stars Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange. In the first season, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis are shown battling sexism, ageism and misogyny in Hollywood.
"We shot the first four episodes thinking that Hillary Clinton was going to win, so those first four episodes were, 'Haven't we come so far!' Then halfway through the shooting, the other scenario happened," Murphy said. "It was a bracing slap of, 'You know what? Nothing has really changed.' It's so hard to bring about that change that we all feel is necessary with how women are treated in our society. We worked harder at those things because it's such a large story even today."
The first season finale of Feud (titled Feud: Bette and Joan) will air on April 23 at 10 p.m. The second season of Feud will premiere in 2018. A specific premiere date and casting details have not been released.
