Each of this week’s new releases touches on a different film genres. There’s an animated tale, a dramatic comedy, a biopic and a heart-pounding thrill ride. The newest installment in the Fast and the Furious series enters theaters with some new celebrity additions.
After tying the knot, Dom tries to live a normal life but is convinced to go back to a life of crime in The Fate of the Furious. An intriguing woman persuades him to go against his friends and participate in terrorist activities. The action packed PG-13 film takes viewers on a high speed adventure around the globe. Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Kurt Russell, Scott Eastwood, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren star in the two hour and sixteen minute thriller.
A teenager with royal relatives tries to take back his home planet from the evil ruler who destroyed his family in Spark: A Space Tail. He soon discovers that the fate of the entire universe lies in his hands. The PG animated adventure features the voices of Jace Norman, Jessica Biel, Susan Sarandon, Patrick Stewart and Hilary Swank. The film is playing in limited theaters for one hour and thirty minutes.
A lonely man goes to great lengths to try to make friends in Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer. His people pleasing ways start to pay off after he buys a pair of shoes for an up-and-coming politician. Finally getting noticed, he tries to take advantage of his new relationship. Richard Gere stars in the limited released dramatic comedy alongside Michael Sheen, Steve Buscemi, Lior Ashkenazi, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Dan Stevens, Hank Azaria and Josh Charles. The one hour and fifty-eight minute film is rated R for language.
The son of a caddy dreams of one day becoming a golfer in Tommy’s Honour. Determined to make his own path in life, he goes against societal norms and helps shape modern day golf. The PG drama is based on the true story of Scottish golfer Tommy Morris. The film is playing in limited theaters for one hour and fifty-two minutes.
The Fate of the Furious may have viewers on the edge of their seat this week, but there’s more action to come next week with the release of The Lost City of Z and Free Fire. Also scheduled to head into theaters on April 21 is the Katherine Heigel and Rosario Dawson led dramatic thriller Unforgettable.
