A 13 Reasons Why star was brought to tears during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Katherine Langford and Dylan Minnette made their talk show debut on Monday’s episode of The Ellen Show. The actors talked about the Netflix Original 13 Reasons Why, which has become a huge hit since its release last month.
“The main goal overall is just to start a conversation that we think is necessary to be had and to bring these issues to light and to show them in a real way,” Minnette said when discussing the importance of the show. “And if people are talking, then we’ve reached our goal.”
During the segment, Ellen asked Langford the moment that she realized the show was a success.
“There was definitely a really big moment for me like a week ago,” Langford answered. “I don’t have Twitter, but Lady Gaga tweeted at me, like re-posted an interview where I was fangirling and wrote, ‘Katherine’ with a love heart. And I kind of freaked out a little bit.”
That’s when Ellen decided to give Langford the gift of a lifetime. The actress, who recently celebrated her 21st birthday, was given two VIP passes to Lady Gaga’s concert.
“Because you love Lady Gaga, I called her and she gave you—you’re going to go see her and go backstage and meet her,” the show host announced.
Cue the waterworks.
