The world was not ready to finish going back in time, as fans of the NBC show Timeless helped bring the show back from cancellation.

Last week, NBC revealed the show was not returning for a second season. Creator Eric Kripke tweeted to fans that he was working on finding “another home” for the show starring Abigail Spencer.

However, after fan uproar, including celebrities such as Leslie Jones, NBC decided not to cancel the series afterall! The second season will be returning in 2018. Kripke posted, “Correction. Info moving fast. We’re airing sometime in 2018, not sure when. But we’re airing!”  In another tweet, he wrote, “And THANKS for the fan support. It’s a MAJOR reason we’re back. It worked, guys!”

Co-creator Shawn Ryan was equally as thrilled, even going into ratings of the show to prove just how well it had done on the network.

The show is set to return for 10 episodes and apparently roles have been promised to not only fan celebrity Jones, but also William Shatner.

Other stars of the show include Malcolm Barrett, Sakina Jaffrey and Matt Lanter.
