The first two pictures of David Harbour — one of the stars (and also one of the best parts) of Stranger Things — in the upcoming Hellboy reboot has been posted to Twitter:
Yeah, go ahead and put any of those ‘why are they rebooting this?’ thoughts to the side for now. Harbour looks amazing in this picture.
Not that we didn’t like Guillermo del Toro and Ron Pearlman’s version, of course. The two of them captured something wonderful together, which lead to two really well-made and fun films. It’s just that when you compare Harbour and Pearlman side-by-side, Harbour’s clearly holds up a bit more for modern day:
Harbour has never looked more in shape than he does now, and the Right Hand of Doom is everything we ever hoped it could be. Seeing how Neil Marshall, the director, is said to be crafting this rendition of Hellboy with more of a horror movie tone, this darkly lit picture feels perfectly appropriate.

Most people on Twitter seemed to agree, and also had plenty of light-hearted jokes to make on the subject as well:
Along with the pictures came an official release date — Jan. 11, 2019. Del Toro’s Hellboy and Hellboy II: The Golden Army are be hard to beat quality-wise, but we’re going to give Marshall and Harbour a chance at least.
