Race car driver Arie Luyendyk Jr. has been selected to be the 22nd bachelor on ABC's acclaimed dating show.

After getting dumped at the finale, he almost made it back to the season 17 of The Bachelor, but Sean Lowe, who is happily married to his match with a baby on the way. So that worked out well.

Die hard fans are not going to let the choice ruin their fun however.
Maybe it's because no one knew his actual name? You see Arie was nicknamed the Kissing Bandit during his time on the Bachelorette for the number of kisses he stole. There's even a YouTube montage entitled How to kiss like Arie Luyendyk Jr., he's that famous for his kisses.
While fans may be disappointed, the ladies chosen for Arie will be happy to know he's a former two-time Indianapolis 500 winner who is now a real estate broker in Scottsdale, Arizona. He moved to the U.S. from the Netherlands when he was three and hasn't dating very many women steadily. The almost-36-year-old seems to be ready to settle down.
No matter what, we hope he finds his true love this season.
The Bachelor returns to ABC in January 2018.
