Katy Perry is a distinguished musician who has had a lot of success over the past few years, with her multiple albums titled One of the Boys, Teenage Dreams, and Prism. While there have been many songs on each album, the ones that stand out to everyone are the ones that have been played on the radio the most and are stuck in the heads of music listeners. With every album Perry has dropped, she has gained more fans and listeners as she changes up her music style and her songs go further in depth with her love life with Russell Brand.
Before everyone knew of Katy Perry, there was Katy Hudson, who released a self-titled album, which was a gospel album. However, her gospel album wasn’t very popular. After Katy Hudson wasn’t very popular, Katy then changed her name to Katy Perry, moved to Los Angeles at age 17, and signed to Island Def Jam Records. She had been working on an album with the record company when she was dropped by them, with that record being shelved.
Perry was also dropped from Columbia records, and soon after being dropped from Columbia she signed on in 2007. For her second album she wrote “I Kissed a Girl” and “Hot n Cold”. In April 2008, Perry released “I Kissed a Girl” as her first single with Capitol records. Katy Perry has had three headlining tours.
Katy recently played the halftime show at the Superbowl XLIX in February 2015, singing alongside dancing sharks, and Missy Elliott.
