Third time's the charm.
Peyton List is joining the popular Fox series Gotham as the latest Poison Ivy, as early as next year.
The age-shifting villainous character is constantly changing actors — having been played by Clare Foley (Sinister) in the first two seasons, followed by Maggie Geha in season three. Following the latest transformation that occurred in “The Fear Reaper” episode, which aired on Sept. 28, List will be next to take on the Ivy mantle.
“In the continuing evolution of Poison Ivy’s origin story,” Gotham producers said in a statement on Oct. 30 via Deadline, “Ivy Pepper has been transformed once again taking another step toward becoming the Ivy we know from the comics. Dangerous. A live wire of crazy energy. She’ll set her sights onGotham, intent on making the city her own green paradise.”
List, not to be confused with the younger actress who appears in the Disney show Jessie and is also named Peyton List, is primarily known for her work on Frequency and Mad Men. She also appeared in The Flash as Lisa Start — aka Golden Glider — a few years back.
Gotham has, so far, featured several origin stories for Batman villains, Ivy being just one of them. The show has also covered the Penguin, the Riddler, Catwoman and, most recently, Ra’s al Ghul.
List’s Ivy will appear in at some point in 2018. So far, it’s unclear whether that will be in the latter half of the current season or if they’re going to hold off until season four.
