Season four of Gotham has definitely been the best season of the show by far. We can expect big changes heading to our favorite fictional city at the end of season four.
Gotham has yet to be officially renewed for a fifth season but executive producer Danny Cannon feels very confident that another season will be happening and that the conclusion of this season will lay the foundation for a reboot.
The ratings haven't been super impressive this season for Gotham which is probably why the show hasn't been officially renewed. The ending of season four and mainly the finale will follow the popular DC comic Batman: No Man's Land will set in motion the upcoming changes.
EP Danny Cannon recently said in an interview that the reboot will change the landscape of the show but will have the same characters.
"Like I said, the catastrophic event, the cataclysmic event that happens in the last three episodes not only will change Gotham," Cannon continued, "it not only combines so many characters that you don't think will cooperate with each other, but it changes the face of Gotham forever, so that season five, it's almost a reboot and a different show."
If you have read the No Man's Land comic, you already have an idea about the major event that is going to take place during the season four finale. I'm hoping this season ends on a strong note and we can get excited for another exciting new season of Gotham this fall!
Gotham airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. only on FOX.
