Supergirl is coming to Broadway - or at least Melissa Benoist is.

Melissa Benoist, known for her roles as Marley Rose on Glee and Kara Danvers on Supergirl, will be joining the cast of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical this summer.

Benoist will be taking on the role of Carole King, the iconic singer-songwriter, in the musical about how King got her start in the music business. Benoist will join the current cast of Evan Todd as Gerry Goffin, Jessica Keenan Wynn as Cynthia Weil, Ben Jacoby as Barry Mann, Liz Larsen as Genie Klein and Paul Anthony Stewart as Don Kirshner.

Beautiful features a book by Michael McGrath, direction by Marc Bruni and choreography by Josh Price. Benoist will be in the production for a limited run from June 7 – August 4, 2018.

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical has been on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre for five years, and is still going strong to this day. Featuring hits such as “You’ve Got a Friend,” “Beautiful,” “One Fine Day,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” and “I Feel the Earth Move,” this is a musical that you will never forget.

Currently, Benoist can be seen weekly on Supergirl as the title character Kara Danvers / Supergirl, now in the third season. The TV show keeps people coming back every week and was announced for the fourth season.

Benoist got her start on TV on the show Glee, starting in the fourth season, she was on the show from 2012-2014.

No stranger to the stage, Benoist has been in Cinderella, Bye Bye Birdie and Evita. She graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts in 2011 from Marymount Manhattan College.
