If this coming-of-age movie wasn't enough, YouTube Red will feature an Edge of Seventeen series pilot.
YouTube Red has approved a new pilot for Edge of Seventeen, where Hailee Steinfeld starred as an angsty teenager struggling to get through high school.
Annabel Oakes (Transparent, Atypical) will write the coming-of-age series. Director and writer of Edge of Seventeen, Kelly Fremon Craig will be the executive producer for the STXtv spin-off.
The Hollywood Reporter stated YouTube head of comedy, Dustin Davis said, "Kelly Fremon Craig created an honest, hilarious and heartbreaking film with Edge of Seventeen."
Davis added, "We're excited to work with the entire team at STXtv and have Annabel and Kelly create a series for YouTube Red using themes from the film as inspiration."
The pilot will be STXtv's second scripted production in the past year and will follow a whole new cast through their relationships and realities of being a teenage girl.
