Sunday is Father’s Day in the United States. It is a holiday that is celebrated internationally. However, the date is different across the globe. Basically, Father’s Day is celebrated year round.
At first, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day were not national holidays in the United States. During the 20th century, Father’s Day became an official holiday after Mother’s Day. Both holidays celebrate parenthood.
You do not have to be a child’s biological father to celebrate this day. Adoption, foster care and surrogacy make this holiday a little complicated.
Parenthood is not always easy, but it is the best job out there. Sometimes, parents need encouragement. Working through different stages of a child’s life is challenging. This is evident in many family-based television shows. In a way, these shows give father’s a template on how to deal with different situations.
This is why we are honoring TV dads. Click next to see which ones made our list.
