Chris Hardwick, after a month-long investigation, will return to AMC as host of The Talking Dead and Talking With Chris Hardwick.
Hardwick will officially return to The Talking Dead on Sunday, August 12, right after that night’s episode of Fear the Walking Dead. Yvette Nicole Brown has filled in for Hardwick during an investigation into his previous relationship with actor and Nerdist YouTube host Chloe Dykstra.
Said AMC in a statement:
"Following a comprehensive assessment by AMC, working with Ivy Kagan Bierman of the firm Loeb & Loeb, who has considerable experience in this area, Chris Hardwick will return to AMC as the host of Talking Dead and Talking With Chris Hardwick…We take these matters very seriously, and given the information available to us after a very careful review, including interviews with numerous individuals, we believe returning Chris to work is the appropriate step.”
In June, Dykstra published a blog post that detailed sexual and emotional abuse by a former partner, who blacklisted her within the industry after they broke things off. Dykstra did not name her abuser, but many have concluded that her former abuser was Hardwick.
Hardwick denied the allegations.
