On last week’s Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, Tyrone plays an important basketball game and Tandy goes undercover at a Roxxon event.

Previously on Cloak & Dagger, Tandy and Tyrone got into an argument after talking about their lives and powers.

“Princeton Offense” opens on Tandy watching an ad featuring a man named Louden Swift. He talks about his time in the Navy and his time as an environmental member of Roxxon. She looks at all the papers she has on the company and sorts them into piles.

Detective O’Reilly has sex with a man in the back of a cop car. She gets a call and goes into the precinct. Tyrone meets with her and tells her about his brother, saying Tandy said he could trust O’Reilly. She isn’t sure if she believes him and says even if she did, she doesn’t think Connors could be brought to justice. He tells her about seeing Connors dealing drugs, suggesting she get him on drug charges. He mentions the cocaine that Connors said it was taken from evidence. She tells him to be safe and let her do her job.

Tyrone gets to school and sees Evita has decorated his locker for the basketball game. He turns and finds Tandy. They chat and she reveals she’s learned to control her powers. She asks for his help in using the school’s computer lab.

Tyrone and Tandy talk about the game. Tyrone explains he played basketball when he was little with Billy and his friends. He asks how she learned to control her power. Tandy doesn’t go into specifics on how her power emerged but does mention she almost died. She says she wants to use her ability to see others hopes. He doesn’t agree, but she sees the power as a gift to get back some of what the world stole from her family.

Tyrone is forced to stand next to one of the players who beat him up. Evita and the other cheerleaders come and stand by the players. Tyrone thanks Evita for the locker and she mentions their friendship. Tyrone is confused, but he notices one of the other players giving his girlfriend his letterman jacket. The team and cheerleaders go outside for a pep rally. Tandy watches the rally and gets the idea to steal a school uniform.

Back at the precinct, O’Reilly looks up information about drug cases around the time of Billy’s death. Officer Fuchs, the man she was with earlier, comes over. She asks him about the time period and notes Connors seemed to have made it so one person was running drugs in that part of town.

Tyrone looks at a picture of Billy and his friends before asking his mother what happened to the boys. She’s excited about the finals game later that night and says he makes her proud. He looks at the picture again and transports elsewhere. He finds himself at Billy’s friend Duane’s business. The two chat about basketball and Billy. Duane tells Tyrone to always focus on the future.

Tandy continues to sort papers and finds out about a Roxxon gala happening soon. She sees a woman on the arms of one of the Roxxon men and finds out she’s part of a group. Tandy goes to see the group. She poses as “Felicity,” a young model with 17 thousand followers. The woman gives Tandy the Roxxon job.

Tyrone gives Evita his letterman jacket and they kiss. Tyrone starts his basketball game at the same time Tandy arrives at the Roxxon event. Tyrone plays and gets a foul shot. The teams fight over the ball and the ref touches Tyrone. He sees the ref’s fear of being tortured. The ball ends up transporting to the gala, which is confusing for everyone.

At halftime, Tyrone feels exhausted and sits down. Tandy uses her powers at the gala, touching Roxxon men and seeing their hopes. Each man is thinking about one man and what they want him to do. Tyrone appears at the gala in front of Tandy. He tells her that using her powers is causing him issues. She tells him about the man in everyone’s hopes and how she thinks he’s the mystery man in charge. She looks over and sees a picture featuring the man. His name is Peter Scarborough. She finally recognizes him as the man who came to her house after her father died and said everything they had was the property of Roxxon.

Tyrone says he’s glad she’s finding some information, but he needs to get back to the game. Tandy explains she can’t send him back and asks if he’s tried putting himself in danger. She then shoves him off the second floor and he falls into a water feature and appears back in the locker room.

Back at the gala, Tandy sees a woman and thinking she’s drunk, gives her some advice. The woman says it’s nerves, then gets on stage and is announced as Mina Hess. Tandy goes through her papers later and concludes Scarborough is the man behind the scenes.

O’Reilly brings Liam in to ask him some questions about drugs. Later she questions a dealer, but the woman says she gives her product to a runner and doesn’t know the person in charge. She tries to talk her way out of getting arrested by offering O’Reilly drugs.

Back at the game, Tyrone has the ball with ten seconds left. He continues to run into boys from the other school and see their fears of being attacked. Tyrone shoots and the ball misses the hoop.

Tandy goes to Scarborough’s house, claiming to have a flat tire. He comes out to help her change the tire. She stands behind him with a dagger in her hand for a moment, then changes her mind. She touches him and finds herself at the beach. Scarborough is wading through water, pulling piles of money off of corpses. One person isn’t dead and attacks him, so he kills the man. The man’s helmet washes over to Tandy and she sees it belonged to Ivan Hess.

O’Reilly does cocaine and then shares some with Connors. She talks about her time as a cop in Harlem and how she did drugs undercover. He says she’s alright and suggests they work together.

Tyrone finds Evita in his room when he gets back. She tells him she knows he missed the shot on purpose, reiterating that she pays attention. The two kiss and she stays the night. In the morning, she leaves via the window she came in the night before. After, Tyrone transports to Duane’s business again. He sees Duane arguing with Connors and discovers they’re in the drug business together. He overhears Duane mention knowing Connors killed Billy.

Tandy looks over blueprints and finds Ivan Hess’s name on the back. She searches through the papers and finds a picture of the woman from the event, Mina Hess. She goes to the ad Mina is shooting for Roxxon Gulf. In it, Mina says her father Ivan worked for Roxxon and when he had an accident, Roxxon paid to put her through school. She’s now working for Roxxon.

I think this was a good episode of Cloak & Dagger. Tandy’s investigation is interesting so far. Tyrone proves again he is kind and caring. Tandy pushing him off the second story was frightening, and no matter what she thought would happen, she didn’t truly know. I’m interested to see what Tyrone does now that he has more information on Connors.

Cloak & Dagger airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Freeform. Check out the preview for the next episode below.
