In an emotional video released Friday by advocacy group We Stand United, actors Mark Ruffalo and Common spoke up for families separated at the southern border.
The video also acts as a short documentary, showing a mother separated and reunited with her 8-year-old son after weeks of waiting. Of course, they are one of the lucky ones, since there are still 711 children who haven't been reunited with their parents as of Friday.
According to Variety, the video also shows activists protesting keeping children in centers, while others are filling backpacks for children and mothers.
Andra Day's Grammy-nominated song "Rise Up" plays over the documentary section of the video, according to Billboard.
Ruffalo and Common also encouraged viewers to donate to Families Belong Together, which pays for families' airfare, personal items, and hotels.
