Life Is Strange 2 is arriving for the PS4 on September 27, 2018. This sequel is brought to you by Dontnod Entertainment and Square Enix.
If you are not familiar with the franchise, it a choice (usually 4 choices) graphic novel game. The first game starred Max Caulfield, an 18-year-old inspiring photographer. She attends a private school in her birthplace of Arcadia Bay, Oregon. She had a best friend named Chloe who she hasn’t seen in several years.
Life Is Strange 2 does NOT follow the same characters. It follows two brothers 16-year-old Sean Diaz, and 9-year-old Daniel. They live with their father Esteban. Sean is all about that high school drama (impressing girls, trying to be cool and such). Daniel is playful and full of zest. Then, without warning, tragedy strikes! So, the boys have to leave their comfy living and head to their father's hometown in Mexico.
The first game was all about uncovering the mysteries of the small town of Arcadia Bay. The second game has you traveling to multiple locations. I am sure you will have to go from place to place piecing things together. The second game has all the lovely scenery as it did in the first game. The ambient lighting, subtle forest sounds, soothing color palettes and thought invoking story plots.
There will also be an original soundtrack composed for Life is Strange 2.
As you progress through the game, you meet all types of different characters. The interactions will drive the story to its main plot line. Regardless, of who you meet the plot line is building a rapport with your little brother. I guess you could call it a camping RPG. Just like the previous incarnation of this game you have a power that you are not sure how you got it.
Get your s'mores ready and sit around the fire with your brother. Maybe share some food with a passerby. This game seems to bring all the spooky flashlight stories and more to the PS4.
