I am so ready to return to Murder House.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse is coming up fast. After the recent announcement that the new season would be a Murder House/Coven crossover, Ryan Murphy has revealed that two fan-favorite characters will be returning — Ben (Dylan McDermott) and Vivien Harmon (Connie Britton).

Murphy took to his Instagram account to reveal the following photo.

While we’ve seen certain characters return throughout various American Horror Story seasons, The Harmons have been absent ever since Murder House wrapped. If you’ve seen Murder House, you know that’s because (**SPOILERS for American Horror Story: Murder House follow**) they’re dead…sort of.

By all accounts that are indeed dead, but they’re ghosts — along with their daughter, Violet Harmon (Taissa Farmiga) — live in the halls of murder house.

American Horror Story: Apocalypse promises us to show the next chapter in their story, which makes perfect sense as Murder House wrapped with a pretty big cliff-hanger revolving around Jessica Lange’s character.

Lange left the show after season four, but she’s now listed in the cast for Apocalypse on IMDb, so it’s pretty safe to assume we’re going to be seeing her again.

The question everyone now has is how, exactly, will Coven fit into all of this. Surely they’re going to have some kind of connection to the demon-baby who’s going to be the primary focus of Apocalypse, but how are they going to deal with Farmiga and Lange’s characters from Coven as they play different characters in different seasons?

Surely Ryan Murphy has thought all of this out but he’s keeping it all secret for now, as the only footage we’ve seen from American Horror Story: Apocalypse is a bunch of abstract teasers.

The good news is that American Horror Story: Apocalypse will start airing on Sept. 12 on FX, so we don’t have to wait too much longer.
