Sean Penn has done his part in helping people who have been affected by such natural disasters as Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and, most recently, the earthquake in Haiti. Now he will be honored for it.

Sean Penn, who is a two-time Academy Award winner, will receive the Hollywood Humanitarian Award at the Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony hosted by ET’s Mary Hart.

The awards ceremony and film festival, presented by the movie network Starz, announced that Penn is this year’s recipient due to his outstanding humanitarian achievements and his "incredible selfless and dedicated humanitarian efforts" in saving lives and bringing relief to those in need.

Film Festival founder, Carlos de Abreu, said, "It is an honor to recognize the inspiring humanitarian efforts that Sean Penn and his J/P Haitian Relief Organization have been providing to the great people of Haiti."

The awards ceremony will be held October 25 in Beverly Hills.
