President Barack Obama will appear in Los Angeles Monday but he may not have quite the embracing welcome he had before.

In 2008, when Obama ran for the presidency, many Hollywood A-listers were all too happy to donate money to his successful campaign. In 2011, however, past Obama supporters such as Jon Stewart and Bill Maher have poked fun at him with the same tone they applied to his predecessor, George W. Bush.

Terry Semel, head of Warner Bros., expressed regret that Obama has yet to fulfill his promise to tone down American military excursions.

“I just wish our country would stop engaging in all these different wars that we’ve been involved in,” Semel said.

The president still has some friends in the area, though. Companies such as Comcast, Sony and DreamWorks are still willing to support his re-election campaign. Obama raised over $2 million during the first half of 2011.
