The debate Tuesday between the Republican Presidential candidates drew big ratings for the CNN network.
The debate was held in Las Vegas and was moderated by Anderson Cooper. It had a viewing of over five million people. This makes it second only to FOX’s coverage of the Sept. 22 debate, which drew in over six million viewers.
The debate itself proved tense. Former pizzeria owner Herman Cain, who has enjoyed a recent rise in the polls, received criticism for his proposed ‘9-9-9’ tax plan. He said his proposal only being criticized by those who currently benefit from the present tax code, including lobbyists and accountants.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Gov. Rick Perry engaged in a fierce debate on immigration.
Romney also came under fire for the health care plan he implemented while governor. This plan was the inspiration of President Obama’s health care overhaul, which conservatives are trying to repeal.
