"I've got a lot of apologies to make."

The Iron Man 3 trailer was dropped this morning and is showing a serious side of Robert Downney Jr's iconic character, Tony Stark. His relationship with Pepper Pots is his lifeline and he's showing some PTSD from everything he's been through.

“Lesson Number One: Heroes...there is no such thing.”

But there's no rest for the weary, especially the super hero kind. The trailer also introduces, for the first time on the big screen, comic book villain Mandarin, played by Ben Kingsley. Mandarin goes after Iron Man on a very personal level, and unlike previous "save the world" scenarios, Stark has to save himself and the woman he loves.

This movie is very Stark-centric. According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Downey Jr. was at his best while making this movie. "He always gives it 100% but I think he's given 120% on this one... Robert is in almost every scene, which, when you have Robert, is not a bad thing."

It's hard not to agree with that.

Iron Man 3 is due in theaters May 3, 2013.
