All thanks to actor Ed Asner and his son, Matt, fans can donate to Autism Speaks for a chance to win outgoing voicemail messages from a list of celebrities.

Those who donate $299 to Autism Speaks will have a chance to win a 20-second long MP3 custom-recorded message by a celebrity and the messages must be rated PG, reports The Huffington Post.

Celebrities include William Shatner, Morgan Freeman, Betty White, Will Ferrell, Carrie Fisher, Tom Hanks, Derek Jeter, Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart and Ed Asner.

Asner and his son, who works for Autism Speaks, came up with this idea in order to raise money for autism, which is a disease that an estimated 1 in 88 children in the United States suffers from.

"I think people will get a charge out of it. I'll probably say, `What are you wearing?' Or, `Take it off.' Something like that," he said as quoted by The Huffington Post.

According to Contactmusic.com, the messages will only be available for one week starting December 3.

"I'm awfully stuck on Will Ferrell, having been subjected to him in Elf. But they're all such standouts – Patrick Stewart, Leonard Nimoy, Shatner. The list doesn't stop. Even Betty White. She's still got some good left in her," Asner said when asked who he would want to record a message for him if he could choose one.
