Lucy Hale of Pretty Little Liars is excited to get back to her country roots as she prepares for her country music album to drop next summer.

"I'm from Tennessee. My mom lives in Nashville. I'm born and bred country. That's all I listen, too," Hale told Marc Malkin of E! News.

Hale has written three dozen songs and has even been working with Sugarland's Kristian Bush co-writing some of those songs.

"He said, 'You sure u want to do this? You're going to be put through the ringer.' But I was like, 'I'm ready!'" she said.

Hale knows the work she still has ahead of her but the aspiring country music singer hopes her hard work pays off and people believe the words in her songs.

"Acting took off for a while, and I booked [Pretty Little Liars], and I did a movie last year, A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song, and I played a singer, and so that's sort of how Hollywood [Records heard of me]. I hope people latch onto it and believe the words that are coming out of my mouth," Hale explained as quoted by Fans Share.
