Barbara Walters has been hospitalized after falling on a stair and cutting her forehead while she was visiting the British Ambassador's residence in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night.
"Barbara Walters fell on a stair last evening while visiting the British Ambassador's residence and the fall left her with a cut on her forehead. Out of an abundance of caution, she went to the hospital to have her cut tended to, have a full examination and remains there for observation. Barbara is alert (and telling everyone what to do), which we all take as a very positive sign," ABC News' Jeffrey Schneider said, as quoted by The Huffington Post.
According to E! News, 83-year-old Walters was scheduled to contribute to ABC's coverage of the events scheduled for President Obama's inauguration. But TV Newser reports that she will not be on-air Monday and possibly several more days after that.
The View co-host has bounced back from health related issues before though, like when she had heart surgery in May 2010 and returned to work that September saying, "I'm fine!" according to The Washington Post.
