Katie Couric has secured an interview with Notre Dame linebacker and online dating hoax victim Manti Te'o that will air Thursday on her ABC talk show Katie.
According to USA Today, Couric will interview Te'o along with his parents, Brian and Ottilia. The interview will be previewed by her on different ABC News programs like Good Morning America and Nightline.
ABC News has not revealed when or where the interview will take place though, reports The Associated Press.
This will be the first on-camera interview Te'o has done since the news of him being a victim of an online dating hoax broke. Previously he sat down for an interview that was off-camera with ESPN's Jeremy Schaap. Details from the interview were released on SportsCenter and ESPN.com as well as ESPN releasing a transcript on Saturday of the interview.
Te'o spoke about adjusting certain parts of his story like telling his father that he had met Lennay Kekua but he said that he had no part in the hoax. It wasn't until Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the person allegedly behind the hoax, contacted him on Wednesday to confess and apologize that he was finally convinced that Kekua didn't really exist.
