Kylie Minogue has split with her manager of 25 years, Terry Blamey, who is responsible for launching the Australian singer's career.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Minogue and Blamey go back to her 1987 debut single, “The Loco-Motion," and he was there for her very first concert in Tokyo in 1990.
Blamey was given the Peter Grant Award at the Artists & Managers Awards just weeks ago where Minogue paid tribute to him.
"Terry, thank you so much for everything. For helping a 19-year-old girl take on the world and become a woman and an artist," she said in her speech, as quoted by Australian music news site Noise11.
Minogue finished her speech toasting, "Here’s to the future.”
Their split brings an end to one of the most successful business relationships ever in the Australian music industry, Noise11 reports.
Blamey, who began his artist management career in 1966, confirmed the news and revealed the split was amicable.
He also produced all of Minogue's shows, executive produced all of her live DVDs and launched the career of her sister, Dannii Minogue.
