Acclaimed director Jim Jarmusch’s latest film, the vampire love story Only Lovers Left Alive, has been added to the 2013 Cannes Film Festival line-up.

According to an AFP report published on the festival’s site, the film stars Oscar winner Tilda Swinton, along with Tom Hiddleston, John Hurt and Mia Wasikowska. It is the 20th film added to the competition and will be eligible for the prestigious Palme D’or.

Only Lovers Left Alive will have some tough competition, though. Among the other films competing for the award are Joel and Ethan Coen’s Inside Llewyn Davis, Alexander Payne’s Nebraska and Nicholas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives. Also in the competition is Steven Soderbergh's Behind The Candelabra, which stars Michael Douglas as Liberace.

The Cannes jury will be lead by Steven Spielberg with Ang Lee, Nicole Kidman and Christoph Waltz.

Jarmusch is best known as the director behind Dead Man, Down By Law and Mystery Train. His last film was 2009’s The Limits of Control.
