Season one of A&E’s Bates Motel left us with some burning questions and a stellar cliffhanger. Anyone else having trouble with getting the disturbing image of Miss Watson lying dead on the floor? We hope for Norman’s (Freddie Highmore) sake that he didn’t actually kill her but we all how the story will to end up, as the series is after all a prequel for Hitchcock’s Psycho.
So what’s in store for season two?
In the finale, we learned a bit more about Norma’s (Vera Farmiga) mysterious past. It was finally revealed how she got the scar on her leg seen all season long – her brother raped her and an iron fell on it. Was it a coincidence that Norma told Norman about this when she did?
Executive producer Carlton Cuse tells TVGuide, “We would be remiss if we didn’t meet some other members of the Bates family. I don’t want to say who, but we are definitely going to learn about their family tree, which has more twisty branches.”
“The big question mark is Dylan’s dad,” Highmore tells TVGuide of his half-brother. “There’s certainly a story to be told there.”
Aside from the Bates family Sherriff Romero (Nestor Carbonell) will become more of a complex character in season two. According to TVGuide we will see the sheriff’s home life.
Bates Motel will begin filming season two in late July and will return to A&E in January.
