Fast & Furious 6 made nearly $100 million over the three-day weekend and is set to roar past $120 million by the end of Memorial Day. The film easily beat The Hangover Part III and left holdovers like Star Trek Into Darkness in the dust.

The Universal car action movie grossed $98.5 million over the weekend, according to Box Office Mojo. That easily puts it ahead of the franchise’s previous film, 2011’s Fast Five, which made $86.2 million on its opening weekend. That went on to make $209 million domestically and was a huge hit overseas, just like F&F 6 is poised to become.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, F&F 6 is on track to hit $122 million over four days. It’s already made $158 million internationally, which means that it will be up to $280 million worldwide by Monday night.

Hangover III is not doing as well as Warner Bros. probably hoped. EW notes that the film made $42.4 million over the weekend. Add in Wednesday and Thustrady screenings and that only brings it to $54.2 million. It’s expected to reach $60 million on Monday, which is nothing compared to Part II’s $135 million five-day opening.

“Tracking had us a lot closer. It was a little surprising that we didn't reach the $80 million mark, but I can't look at a $63 million or $64 million opening and say it wasn't solid,” Warners president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman told THR. “Obviously, the first choice was Fast 6, but hopefully people will get a dose of that film and then come back to us.”

Star Trek Into Darkness fell to $38 million in its second weekend. It has already passed the $100 million mark overseas, where the Star Trek name isn’t as big as it is here. It doesn’t open in China and South Korea until this weekend.

Fox’s animated Epic is expected to reach $44 million over the four-day weekend. Kids loved the 3D film, giving it an A+ CinemaScore grade. It made $34 million over the weekend.

Iron Man 3 added $19.4 million.
