Iron Man 3 beats out the opening of The Great Gatsby coming in first at the box offices for the second week in a row.
Robert Downey Jr. stars in the third installment of the popular Marvel series Iron Man. The movie grossed $72.5 million in its second week according to The Washington Post. Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie The Great Gatsby came in second earning $51.1 million for its opening weekend. Gatsby comes in second as DiCaprios highest domestic opening to Inception which made $62.8 million.
The Gatsby soundtrack is doing very well and is expected to reach the number 2 spot on the Billboard 200 chart according to The Hollywood Reporter. The soundtrack features big artists including Jay-Z, will.i.am and Lana Del Ray.
Baz Lurhmann who directed the film, has had past success with his movies soundtracks. His films Romeo + Juliet and both reached the top 3 spots on the billboard charts.
