NBC has decided to renew the funniest show on TV right now, Parks and Recreation with Amy Poehler. Fans will get to see how Ron Swanson, our favorite anti-government manly man, will handle being a parent.

The network confirmed the news Thursday afternoon, shortly after a source close to the show told HitFix that Parks and Recreation will get a new season.

Parks and Recreation started out as a spin-off from The Office and was created by the same team behind that show, Greg Daniels and Mike Schur. It tells the story of the citizens of Pawnee, Indiana. The main cast includes Poehler as the devoted city counselor Leslie Knope, Adam Scott as her husband Ben Wyatt and Rashida Jones as her friend Ann Perkins. The rest of the cast includes Nick Offerman, Rob Lowe, Aubrey Plaza, Retta, Chris Pratt, Rob Lowe and Aziz Ansari.

In other NBC news, THR reports that 1600 Penn, Up All Night, Guys with Kids and Whitney have been cancelled. Deception’s cancellation was announced earlier this week.

All of these shows weren’t expected to continue, especially Up All Night, which crashed and burned because of an ill-fated attempt to rebrand the show as a multi-camera sitcom. Star Will Arnett already earned a gig on a CBS pilot.
