Producer AraabMUZIK, whose real name is Abraham Orellana, is recovering today after being shot during an attempted robbery in Providence, Rhode Island. His manager says that he is recovering and posted a photo of his client in a hospital bed.
According to MTV, George Moore, who uses the name Duke Da God, revealed that Orellana almost died using Twitter and Instagram. He posted a photo of Orellana surrounded by friends and family at the hospital. The photo is captioned “Everyone wish my brother @araabmuzika healthy & pleasant recovery!!!! #Mvpofthempc #Soblessed.”
On Thursday, a rep for Orellana confirmed the incident to Billboard, stating, “Rumors have begun to circulate and first and foremost, we want to let everyone know that AraabMUZIK is currently alive and well.”
His rep said that Orellana was with friends and was in “the wrong place at the wrong time” and that police are investigating the incident.
“We appreciate all the concern and fan support and Araab is looking forward to a speedy recovery and returning to the stage as soon as he can,” the statement concluded.
One of Orellana’s collaborators, Avatar Darko, tweeted about what happened, telling fans to pray for him. Darko added, “My lil brodi too trill! They tried to rob him and he ain't come up off his shit so they tried get him outta there! He meant to be here! Foh!”
