Aretha Franklin, 71, canceled two shows due to heath concerns.
May 20 with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and May 26’s solo performance at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Conn. were pulled.
Foxwoods’ spokeswomen Dale Wolbrink said to Reuters, “It was canceled for medical reasons.”
“Doctor’s recommendation for treatment during the time frame of May 20 and 26,” the Chicago Symphony Orchestra said to Reuters.
This is not the “Respect” and “(You Make me Feel Like) A Natural Women” singer’s first time canceling shows according to Rolling Stone. In 2010 an entire tour was canceled for a surgery where at the time Franklin reported to have server pain in her side. That sparked rumors. Franklin denied she was undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer.
Janelle Monae is filling in for Franklin on May 20 in Chicago.
Shows in Canada and Michigan in June are still scheduled.
