The nominations for the upcoming BET Awards are out, and Drake, 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar lead the pack for the most nods.
Drake received 12 nominations, including 5 of those in the Video of the Year category for separate songs. Those songs are his own “Started From the Bottom,” “HYFR,” as well as his collaborations with A$AP Rocky's for "F---in' Problems,” 2 Chainz’s “No Lie” and Kendrick Lamar's "Poetic Justice."
According to Vibe, the nominations were announced on Tuesday by Kendrick Lamar, on a rooftop in Los Angeles. He and fellow breakout rapper 2 Chainz are tied for 8 nominations each, and they will compete in the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist category with Drake.
MTV News notes Chris Tucker will host the June 30 event, and Chris Brown and R. Kelly will perform.
Others who garnered nominations are A$AP Rocky and Jay-Z tying for five, and “Suit & Tie” singer Justin Timberlake and Miguel tying for four.
