Beyoncé and Madonna have joined up with activists Gloria Steinem and Bishop Desmond Tutu for a benefit concert this weekend that gives the message of empowerment for women.

The “Sound of Change Live” concert includes Florence + the Machine and Jennifer Lopez who will be broadcast live from Twickenham sports stadium to 150 countries and on primetime TV in the U.S. according to Reuters.

Beyoncé will headline the event and Madonna will be a presenter with other musicians, public figures, activists, film directors and actors including Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan from India.

Organizers said if all tickets are sold the four-hour concert could fund at least 120 projects supporting women and girls in more than 70 nations Reuters reported. The Chime for Change campaign, started by Gucci, organized the concert. The campaign raises money for education, health and justice projects benefitting women and girls.

“Sixty percent of the children in the world not in school are girls. Two-thirds of the world’s illiterate are women. I do not accept this. We need to change this and we will change this,” Madonna said.

According to Rolling Stone the concert will also feature evocative films and other stories showcasing women’s issues from a global perspective.
