Country star Blake Shelton and his wife, Miranda Lambert, paid tribute to his home state of Oklahoma on NBC’s The Voice Tuesday after the Oklahoma City area was hit by a devastating tornado. He said at the time that he is already working on a tribute concert and today it was reported that the event will take place on Wednesday.

Organizers for the event told The Associated Press today that the event is scheduled for May 29 at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City. NBC will air the concert live.

Shelton and Lambert performed “Over You” on The Voice Tuesday and called for fans to make a donation to the American Red Cross to help in the relief efforts.

“We are actually putting together a fund-raiser right now with NBC,” Shelton told CNN after the broadcast. “We'll have more details within the next 24 hours, but definitely something with NBC that is going to happen real fast, and hopefully raise a lot of money.”

The tornado hit Moore, Oklahoma, a city near Oklahoma City. It killed 24 people and the area has begun rebuilding efforts. Two more funerals for students that died during the disaster were held today.

The AP reports that Carrie Underwood has also committed to donating $1 million to the Red Cross.
