Bobby Van’s Steakhouse is busy with the hustle and bustle of NYC’s Businessmen and Businesswomen as I walk in for my 7:00 pm reservation. We are seated right away by General Manager Paul in a comfy table for two by the window. As we enjoyed a glass of Pinot Noir we chose from a menu made especially for us. Appetizer options included a Fennel and Field Salad and the Soup of the Day which was Tortilla. My guest and I ordered one of each and both were delicious. The salad was light and refreshing with mandarin oranges and tossed in truffle citrus vinaigrette. The soup had a hint of spice and was chock full of veggies and colorful tortilla chips.

Entrée choices included Broiled Sirloin with Rosemary Jus, Blackened Hake Filet, Roman Chicken Breasts and Rigatoni Di Parma. We chose the Broiled Sirloin which was simply outstanding and served with Roasted Fingerling Potatoes and String Beans and the Blackened Hake Filet, served over a “to die for” Shrimp Risotto and Cajun Herb Sauce. Both entrees did not disappoint. The dishes were the perfect sized portion and simply delicious.

Dessert options included NY Cheese Cake, Chocolate Truffle Cake and Pecan Tart ala mode. We went with the cheese cake which was drizzled in raspberry sauce and really yummy and the Pecan Tart which I dare say I want another one of now. It was served warm with vanilla ice cream and delicious doesn’t quite do it justice. An espresso added to the end of the meal quite perfectly.

As we left after our dinner, I decided I would have to return soon. There are many more menu options I can’t wait to try. Bobby Van’s Steakhouse is located at 135 West 50th Street, NY NY 10020. The phone number for reservations is (212) 957-5050.
