Bradley Cooper was in the news a lot on Thursday for dropping out of one project, then committing to another with Steven Spielberg. Now, he’s reportedly signed on for another film that will require him to learn to cook like a Paris chef.

Deadline reported that Cooper will star in Chef, a project to be directed by John Wells, who joined the film Thursday. It was scripted by Steven Knight and is currently set to be one of Cooper’s 2014 releases. 3 Arts’ Erwin Stoff and Double Feature Films’ Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher are producing.

It will also be released by The Weinstein Company, which is releasing Wells’ current project, August: Osage County. Cooper also worked with TWC on Silver Linings Playbook.

Cooper will play Adam Jones, a Paris chef whose promising career is derailed by controlled substances. He gets cleaned up, returns to Paris and devotes himself to creating a first-class restaurant.

Once Cooper finishes David O. Russell’s American Hustle, he’ll do the promotional tour for The Hangover Part III then make Cameron Crowe’s untitled comedy this fall. He’ll make American Sniper with Steven Spielberg in early 2014, then make Chef. Between all this, there was no way he could do Jane Got A Gun and its possible that his dreams of reviving The Elephant Man on Broadway may have to be delayed.

It is worth noting that this Chef project has nothing to do with Jon Favreau’s indie project that was first reported on last week.
