Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen’s 4-year-old twins Max and Bob were removed by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Service on Thursday.
According to Radar Online, who was first to report the news, the young boys were taken away after the department found that they were living with unsafe conditions due to their mothers constant drug use.
Sheen’s ex-wife, actress Denise Richards, was awarded temporary custody of the young boys.
A source tells the site, “Brooke was given many opportunities by social workers to clean up her act. Social workers felt that Bob and Max weren’t safe in Brooke’s care. The decision was made late on Thursday afternoon, and the boys are no longer in Brooke’s care.”
Continuing the source notes, “It’s expected at some point the boys will be taken care of by Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, Denise Richards, who has cared for them in the past when Brooke went to rehab.”
Mueller was previously in rehab in December after a hospitalization for drug overdose. Her rep denied reports that her client had used drugs.
A rep for Muller tells Us Weekly following reports that the boys were taken away, "We're not making any comments on this right now."
