Chris Brown’s next single “They Don’t Know” will feature the late Aaliyah. The single comes off of his newest album X and will unveil never-released vocals from the late singer.
Brown’s rival, Young Money rapper Drake, has also released a song with vocals from Aaliyah called “Enough Said.”
According to E! Online, Brown, 24, announced his next single would feature Aaliyah on Tuesday at the BET Awards nominations press conference.
Brown also shot the video for the song, which is a tribute Aaliyah, this past Saturday in Compton. He said of the location that he is “trying to uplift the poverty side of the community and show them where I’m from. I’m from Virginia, but everyone comes from a broken home or being broke—I remember when I was.”
Brown’s new album X will come out in stores on July 16 and will also feature guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar and Polow Da Don, HitFix reports.
The first single off of the album was “Fine China,” which is doing well on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart, ranking at No. 10.
