With Star Trek Into Darkness hitting theaters this weekend, Chris Pine is back in the spotlight and he’s already lining up his first projects to follow it. On Tuesday, the actor was linked to Stretch and Into The Woods.

Stretch is a project that would reunite Pine with his Smokin’ Aces director Joe Carnahan, reports The Wrap. Pine will take a cameo role in the indie project, which features Patrick Wilson as a limousine driver.

Smokin’ Aces was Pine’s first action film, coming after Princess Diaries and Just My Luck. Since then, he’s become an international star thanks to the success of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pine is also in talks to join Into The Woods, Disney’s film adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical. Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp are already attached and Jake Gyllenhaal is also in talks. Rob Marshall (Chicago) is directing.

THR’s sources say that Pine and Gyllenhaal will play the magical princes that belong to Cinderella and Rapunzel. Both actors have never made musicals before.

Disney hopes to start production this fall and more A-listers are expected to join soon.

Pine reprised his role as James T. Kirk for Star Trek Into Darkness, which hits theaters this weekend. It’s expected to easily open at the top of the box office.
