After separating in 2010, Courteney Cox and David Arquette finally moved to get a divorce last summer. Nearly a year later, the divorce was finalized today.

Arquette and Cox, who both starred in the Scream films, announced their separation back in August 2010, but it wasn’t until June 2012 that Arquette finally filed for divorce. Days later, Cox responded by requesting to get her last name legally changed back to Cox.

As TMZ reported today, Los Angeles County court documents show that the divorce was completed on Tuesday, ending their 12-year marriage.

Their split was amicable and they share joint custody of their 8-year-old daughter Coco. In fact, People reports that Cox told Ellen DeGeneres in January that he is her “best friend...I love him.”

Arquette later told People, “She's incredible. ... I love her, too, and she's an amazing person, a beautiful person.”

Cox, who starred on the iconic NBC sitcom Friends, currently stars on Cougar Town, which has successfully transitioned from ABC to TBS. Arquette appeared on the show for two episodes last year and voices characters for Tron: Uprising and Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Both stars were in the last Scream movie, which was released in 2011.
