Eric Roberts, who appeared in The Dark Knight and has an Oscar nomination on his resume, has signed on to star in the third addition to the notorious Human Centipede horror franchise.
Entertainment Weekly confirmed the news on Wednesday, reporting that the actor has signed on to star in the disturbing franchise, in which humans are grafted together to form single bodies. It has brilliantly been parodied by countless groups, including the South Park guys.
The third film will also feature Friday’s Tommy “Tiny” Lister, Death Race Robert LaSardo and pron star Bree Olsen. Dieter Laser and Laurence R. Harvey are returning along with writer-director Tom Six.
Roberts, the brother of Julia Roberts, was nominated for an Oscar for 1983’s Runaway Train. As The Los Angeles Times notes, he has 47 projects in the works according to his IMDb profile, which is way too many to list here.
Some of his higher profile upcoming projects include USA Network’s Bonnie and Clyde: Justified, Santa's Boot Camp in which he plays a Mall Santa, and Six gun Savior, where he will be seen as the devil.
The Human Centipede III is already filming in Los Angeles and is expected to feature a centipede made up of 500 people.
