A 26-year-old Chechan man from Orlando was shot and killed by an FBI agent Wednesday after the man reportedly attacked the agent. According to the report, he had ties to Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev.

Boston.com reports that the man has been identified as Ibragim Todashev. The incident occurred after Todashev was being qurestioned by officials in his apartment about his connection with Tsarnaev and the bombings at last months marathon.

The FBI released a statement saying, “The agent, along with other law enforcement personnel, were interviewing an individual in connection with the Boston Marathon bombing investigation when a violent confrontation was initiated by the subject.”

“During the confrontation, the individual was killed and the agent sustained non-life threatening injuries,’’ the statement continues. “As this incident is under review, we have no further details at this time.”
Tamerlan and his younger brother, Dzhokhar, were indentified just days after the bombings took place. Three people were killed from with blast and hundreds were hospitalized with injuries.

Tamerlan was killed during a shootout with police which left his younger brother on the run. Dzhokhar remains in custody and could face the death penalty.
