The popular book series by Orson Scott Card gets a live action film written and directed by Gavin Hood who recently directed X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
According to Screen Rant, the film will take place in the not-so distant future. In 70 years, the Earth will be attacked by “Formics” or buggers. These insect- like aliens prompted humans to create a Battle School for impending war. This is a place for young children to train for combat in order to fight a third space war. Andrew “Ender” Wiggins (who is played by Asa Butterfield) is a smart and talented strategist who may be the key to winning this war.
The film is based on the 1985 novel by Card. It has suffered from developmental limbo over recent years but now the book makes it to the sliver screen. The cast includes Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, Sir Ben Kingsley, Abigail Breslin, and Hailee Steinfeld.
From viewing the trailer, viewers will see the advance technology (i.e. weaponry and training rooms) and human relationships develop in the midst of war. The film looks beautiful, visually. If you are a fan of sci-fi and YA, you may love this film.
