In November, country legend George Jones planned a farewell concert in Nashville. While Jones’ funeral last week was attended by several of today’s country stars who performed, his family said that the farewell show will still happen but as a tribute concert.

In a post on the official George Jones website, his wife Nancy Jones wrote to fans that the Nov. 22 show at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville is still happening with “one change.”

“Everyone has been asking if we will still do the show,” Nancy said in the statement. “I have asked Garth [Brooks], Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, The Oak Ridge Boys, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson and others and they all said ‘yes, I am still going to do it’ so with all the artists still planning on coming, we are going to honor George one final time.”

The site notes that the show had already sold out, but fans are encouraged to check Ticketmaster to see if any suddenly become available. Organizers are also still in the process of contacting all the artists who were slated to perform and once the list is concrete, it will be posted on the site.

Jones’ funeral was held at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday, with performances from Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, Vince Gill, Charlie Daniels, the Oak Ridge Boys and many others.

Jones died on April 26 at the age of 81 after being hospitalized for a fever and high blood pressure a week before.
