Gretchen Wilson has been the tomboy of country music ever since she released “Redneck Woman” back in 2004. Even through her music you can tell that this lady has got sass. Just recently the country star has released two albums, one filled with original work and the other a cover album.
Right on Time was released on April 2 of this year. According to Rough Stock, Wilson strays away from the typical country sound, instead bringing a wider variety of who she is as a person and musician to the table. The once in-your-face, attitude driven young woman has now found the confidence to step back and show the world the vulnerable side to her.
Her other new album, Under the Covers is a collection of rock music singles. Wilson does nearly nothing to the track itself, sticking true to the original work. Instead she puts her own spin on it by how she sings it and how much of her soul she pours into the song.
This country tomboy is back and is taking the stage all summer long. You can find out more about her tour on her official website.
