Gabourey Sidibe turns 30 today!

The actress, who is best known as her groundbreaking role in Precious, used to work as a receptionist before concentrating in her acting career.

In Precious, an adaptation from novel Push by Sapphire, she played the main protagonist Claireece "Precious" Jones, a sixteen-year-old rape victim who had two children from her father, who raped her.

The movie garnered Sidibe nominations for Golden Globe, Academy Award, two SAG Awards, BAFTA, and won numerous local awards, such as Satellite Award, Iowa Film Critics, Chicago International Film Festival, Detroit Film Critics Society Award many more.

After Precious, she earned a role in Yelling to the Sky, where she co-starred Zoe Kravitz, Tower Heist, TV show The Big C, where she was nominated for NAACP Image Award, American Dad and Seven Psychopaths.

Other than movies and TV shows, she also acted in Foster the People's music video for the song "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)."
