A woman was saved by her husband after a dog attacked her while she was out walking her dog.
Caren Henry of rural Madrid, Iowa was walking her pet beagle on a Sunday afternoon near her father-in-law’s home. She suffered attacks on her right thigh and abdomen, and then the dog went for her face ripping her nose off.
“I had my sunglasses on, which I’m glad I did because I think it might’ve taken my eye as well as my nose,” Caren Henry said in a statement while under hospital treatment, recorded by and video news coverage viewable at WTVR.
Laine Henry, Caren’s husband, was driving over to pick her up when he witnessed the event taking place. He rushed over quickly to help, saving their pet beagle was well before any harm came near it. He suffered a bite to the left arm from the attacking Labrador while saving his wife.
“He finally had to bite the dog in its nose, and it let loose,” Caren added additionally.
Caren is currently undergoing reconstructive surgery to restore her nose as well as repair her other internal injuries. As for the dog, Buddy, as his name is recorded, is currently under 14 days of household confinement and must be kept on a leash at all times.
